West Lothian Angling Association

The West Lothian Angling Association are responsible for all fishing on approximately 52 miles of mostly double bank river fishing throughout West Lothian, covering all of the River Almond (from Birdsmill at Broxburn upstream) and its tributaries the Breich Water. Linhouse Water, Killandean Burn, Hardwood, West Calder Burn and Murieston Water.

The West Lothian Angling Association are committed to providing affordable local fishing as well as supporting local projects based around fishing and the river. These include litter picks, riverbank restoration, removal of weirs and fish in the classroom.

The West Lothian Angling Association offer day tickets as well as season permits. Day tickets are priced at £5 per day and season permits cost just £15. Permits are available to purchase in-store and via Fish Forth.

Under 16’s fish for FREE on an adult ticket – this is to comply with the West Lothian Angling Association insurance.

The salmon and sea trout season runs from the 1st of February to the 31st of October.

The brown trout season runs between the 15th and the 6th of October.

There is no fishing between the 1st of November and the 31st of January for any species.

There is NO fishing for migratory fish on a Sunday and all fishing is strictly catch and release.
