To reach the largest saltwater fish often requires a boat, along with some specialist sea fishing tackle. Boat rods tend to be much shorter than other fishing rods as casting is not usually required. Reels used are often the best quality saltwater proof fixed spool or for extra strength, a sea boat multiplier.
