Making a contract with us


When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to acknowledge that we have received your order.
Once we have checked the price and availability of the goods, we will e-mail you again to confirm that we accept your order by sending you an invoice, and that a contract has been made between us.

We will not take payment from you until we have accepted/invoiced your order. The exception of this is if you have an "Ordered on Request" item (see below)


In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this. You will not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us.


Angling Active reserves the right to cancel any order before the order is accepted, which is defined as the point at which payment is taken and the order is invoiced. Circumstances under which an order may be cancelled include, but are not limited to, the following:


Non-availability of the goods

Pricing errors

Suspected fraudulent activity

Any abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour towards our employees



Purchasing through our site


Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our on line shop and add any items that you wish to purchase to your shopping basket.


When you have finished shopping, proceed to the checkout. Once you have entered your address and delivery details you can select the appropriate delivery option from our range of parcel carriers and proceed to the payment stage. We accept payment with most major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also accept payment for website orders through PayPal, however we will only ship to verified PayPal accounts.


Card payments through our website are processed by Braintree. Your payment and card details are sent via an SSL encrypted link, ensuring your privacy and security is protected to industry standards. Your card details are not stored by our website at any point in the transaction and our staff have no access to your card details.


All payments are at a pending status with your account. As stated above in the Making a contract with us section, we do not capture payment from you until we have accepted/invoiced your order. The exception of this is if you have an "Ordered on Request" item (see below).



Shipping and Handling


We are based in Stirling in Scotland and deliver orders across the UK. We offer a range of delivery methods, availability of these methods is based on the order items and delivery address. Your choice of delivery method can be selected during the final stages of the checkout, for your convenience a delivery quotation can be obtained in your shopping basket without the need to go through the full checkout process.


UK orders are sent either via Royal Mail or by the Parcelforce courier service. We aim to dispatch all orders on the same day the order is received provided the order is received before 2pm GMT. To be eligible for our express services, your order must be received by 2pm. Any orders received after 2pm will be dispatched on the following working day.

Out of stock and Ordered on Request Items


We aim to hold stock of all items on our site that are marked as in stock, where this is not the case we will contact you by e-mail or telephone. You will have the option to wait for the stock to arrive, amend your order or cancel the order.


Some items that we do not normally hold in stock can be ordered in by request, these items will be marked as "Ordered on Request" and you will be notified of the expected arrival date in the shopping basket. These items will be ordered from our supplier who will send the goods to us and upon arrival, we will dispatch these to you.


If you have ordered an "Ordered on Request" item, this will be invoiced and payment captured shortly after the order has been made. As these items are ordered specifically at your request, payment will be taken before the items arrive from the supplier to cover the costs associated with these custom orders.


Please note that any items ordered as a request, specifically for you cannot be price matched with any other retailer or discounted.



Gift Vouchers


Gift vouchers are available to buy through our website and can be redeemed online or in person in our large retail outlet in Stirling. We sell two types of gift vouchers.


In store gift vouchers can only be used in our retail store in Stirling. They cannot be used on our website. In store vouchers will be sent by post in a presentation gift card. Should you wish to have the vouchers sent directly to a friend or relative please ensure you fill in their details in the “delivery address” section of the checkout process. In store vouchers have no expiry date, have no cash value and change cannot be given.


eVouchers are a separate type of voucher and are delivered by email. eVouchers can be used as part or full payment against any purchase from our website. eVouchers cannot be used in-store. Any unused amount left on an eVoucher will be available for use in future transaction(s). eVouchers have no expiry date and have no value in cash.



Discount Codes


We may from time to time offer visitors to our website discounts on their order. To activate these discounts the corresponding discount code must be applied in the shopping basket which will adjust the order total. Discount codes are limited to one per order. Minimum or maximum order values and time limitations may apply. Discount codes cannot be used when purchasing a Gift Voucher.



Returns Policy


Your right to return goods is protected by the EU Consumer rights directive and the Sale of Goods Act 1979. These regulations permit you a 14 day cooling off period in which time you may return the goods to us for a refund. You are responsible for the return of the items and they must be returned to us in an as new condition, with the original, intact packaging. We recommend you use a reputable courier service and obtain proof of delivery. Proof of posting is not proof of delivery.

In addition to the 14 day cooling off period we offer a 90 day returns service for incorrectly ordered, unwanted or incorrectly sized goods. When returning goods to us please include a note of your name, address, telephone and order number. Goods must be returned in exactly the same condition as you received them.

Warranty Information


All products are covered by the standard one year return to base warranty. Should you have any issues with a product bought through our website then please email us as soon as possible and we will do our best to assist you. Quite often the manufacturer of certain products (for example fishing rods) may offer an extended warranty that exceeds your statutory rights. Should you encounter a problem during this extended period we would recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your product to take advantage of this warranty. We are happy to supply you with contact details or courier assistance should you need them. Your statutory rights are not affected.
