About Our Store
Angling Active (previously known as Angling Centre Stirling) is a family run, father and son business partnership – set up in 1999. Martin, the father of the team, retired from the construction industry and decided their passion for angling should be put to good use. With the support of his son Chris, they stepped into the fast moving and exciting world of retail. The location of the store at the heart of some of Scotland's most popular fishing destinations ensured the small tackle store quickly outgrew its humble beginnings and in 2011 the new location at the Agricultural Centre in Stirling was opened. This cemented Angling Active's position as one of the largest tackle stores in Scotland and allowed further investment in stock and the online and mail order business.

Since moving to our premises at the Stirling Agricultural Centre, Angling Active has grown considerably and our new 7000 square foot showroom allows anglers to browse through the latest products in a light, bright and spacious environment. With over 500 fishing rods on display at any one time in our upper showroom, alongside hundreds of reels, lines and countless other essentials from the biggest brands in fishing tackle you can be sure to find what you are looking for. We aim to provide a relaxed atmosphere to shop, with no pressure sales, just help and advice on hand if or when you need it.
Due to our central location, the store has become a tackle destination for anglers throughout Scotland. A travelling angler increasingly finds an excuse to pass through Stirling and visit Angling Active. Stirling is the gateway to the Trossach’s and Highland waters, and in it’s self is an ideal location for an angling holiday with a vast choice of fishing available. Local permits are available for most waters in store.
RIVERSIDE CASTING AREA
Our showroom in Stirling is situated conveniently at the junction between the Rivers Forth and Teith. This gives our customers access to a dedicated area on the bank of the river Teith to test the latest rods and lines directly upon the water. Around 100 yards from our carpark, the casting area is a short stroll along a country path and is accessible for both wading and bank casting during most conditions. Sturdy footwear or wellington boots are recomended for safety and those who wish to wade should bring their own waders.

We work with our suppliers to ensure we have common demonstration versions of Salmon and Trout fly lines available as well as the ability to test each and every Fly Rod within our comprehensive range. Throughout the year we host casting demonstrations and tuition events featuring some of the biggest names in the industry, these are advertised in advance upon our email newsletter and social media. If you wish to take advantage of our unique casting area to try out your potential purchase please try to let us know in advance of your arrival so we can ensure we have the correct products available, we will ensure you are accompanied by a member of our knowledgeable and experienced staff who will help you get the most out of your tackle test. Our advice is of course free of charge.
