Sage R8 Fly Outfit

The Sage R8 Outfit is a single handed fly rod outfit that contains the R8 Fly Rod, Arbor XL Fly Reel and a RIO Elite Gold Fly Line.

About the R8 Fly Rod
The Sage R8 range has been crafted from the latest material to be developed by Sage’s expert in house design team, the all new revolutionary R8 Core technology creates a more efficient blank resulting in enhanced casting performance and a more connected feel.

This is achieved by a greater fibre surface area which results in less resin being used, creating a much more responsive blank maximising the feedback given to the angler whilst casting allowing you to feel when power needs to be applied during the cast or when playing a fish giving you, the angler, complete control.

With the new R8 Core technology each rod blank is now an optimal circular shape making them more durable and efficient compared to the original technologies that have been used which produced a compressed blank resulting in less feel and loss in power.

Each rod is fitted with high quality hard chromed snake guides and tip top and Fuji ceramic stripper guide, allowing your line to run freely and smoothly resulting in higher line speed which improves casting distance.

The 8’6 #4 models to the 9 #5 weight models are fitted with a snub nose half wells cork handle and an anodised up locking reel seat with a sustainable Ziricote wood insert.

The 9 #7 models to the 10 #7 and 10 #8 models feature a full wells cork handle with an EVA fighting butt and a corrosion resistant anodised aluminium reel seat.

The 9 #6 model is available in two different handle styles, a full wells option or a half wells option which you can choose in our drop down menus.

Each rod is finished in an aesthetically pleasing Silver Pine finish with primary slate thread wraps with white and grey trims.

About the RIO Gold Elite Fly Line
The line features a taper design that gives incredible loop stability at distance and a front taper that delivers perfect presentation of flies between sizes #2 and #22. With a long head and back taper, this line is an excellent all-around fly line on rivers and lakes when long casts and complete line control are required.
