The Sage Foundation Rod, Reel & Line bundle is a single handed fly fishing outfit that contains the Foundation Fly Rod, Spectrum C Fly Reel and the RIO Premier Gold Floating Fly Line.

About the Foundation Fly Rod
This fly rod is the very foundation of what defines a Sage rod, performance and taking your game to another level. Built with a Graphite IIIe blank, this technology incorporates a mix of proprietary carbon/resin composite materials and utilises modulus positioning and graphite/glass scrim layering. This improves overall blank strength and the layered construction reduces weight and increases cross-sectional durability and performance.

Graphite IIIe technology gives a better feel of connectivity throughout the casting stroke for longer, more accurate casts. Whether you are a guide or exploring your local waters, the Foundation rod series delivers that signature Sage feel.

Each rod is fitted throughout with ceramic stripper guides and hard chromed snake guides and tip-top. The black anodised aluminium, up-locking reel seat is durable and reliable and the handle is made from premium cork with a half wells handle. There is a fighting butt on saltwater weights.

About the Spectrum C Fly Reel
The Spectrum C reel features a lightweight, die-cast frame with machined holes to relieve the body of excess weight and further add to the weightless feel of the reel. The reel is covered in a corrosion-resistant powder coating that is both aesthetically pleasing and enhances the feel of the reel. It protects the surface from scratches while increasing the durability of the reel in saltwater conditions.

This reel comes fully equipped with a Sealed Carbon System, along with Sage's signature One Revolution Drag Knob system with numbered and denting settings giving the reel personal levels of drag, and more importantly, repeatable and consistent levels of drag so you can have confidence in your fishing.

The Spectrum C features a large arbor for increased line pick-up speeds that has a unique concave shape for increased strength and capacity. The reel has a solid machined anodised hub and a large ergonomic handle that can easily be converted from left to right hand wind.

About the RIO Premier Gold Fly Line
This fly line is built with RIO’s SlickCast coating that allows the line to be one of the slickest and most durable on the market. This line will produce absolutely minimal friction and effortlessly shoot through your rod guides.

The tapered design that gives loop stability at distance and the unique profile allows your rod to load at close range. The font taper that delivers perfect presentation of your flies between sizes #22 and #2.

The MaxFloat Tip technology, includes RIO’s proprietary tip coating formula that will float more than twice as high as regular line tips, without any increase in diameter.
