Frödin Flies SNS Fox Hair Supreme (Body) is a premium natural hair patch designed specifically for tying Scandinavian-style salmon, sea trout, and steelhead flies. Sourced from highly selected fox pelts, it provides the ideal structural balance for building flowing wings on medium-sized hook flies and tube patterns.
Unlike crinkled tail fur, fox body hair consists of straight, fine outer guard hairs and a dense, highly compressible undercoat. The hair fibres range from 5cm to 10cm in length, allowing tiers to build tapered profiles on wings up to 8cm long.
When wrapped or spun, the soft underfur creates bulk and support at the base of the wing, preventing the longer guard hairs from wrapping around the hook bend. Underwater, the soft nature of the fibres allows the entire wing to pulse, undulate, and breathe with changing currents, collapsing during the swing and expanding on the dangle.
