The Cortland Competition Fly Lines are perfect for distance shooting and provide anglers with a wide range of fly lines that have special tapered constructions for achieving desired depth and ideal presentations.
All the lines in this range have a 110ft length and are constructed with a durable braided nylon multi-filament core. See below for each line density.
Hover
Cortland’s new Hover line is designed to sit right under the surface film and stay there. The neutral density line is built on a long level tapered head to ensure a consistent presentation.

The new Slow Intermediate line features a long level taper head design and sinks at an ideal rate of 1 inch per second. Built to fish flies just below the surface film.

Medium Intermediate
Our new Medium Intermediate sinks at 1.5-2 inches per second and features two hang markers at 14ft and 24ft. Hang markers indicate when it’s a perfect time to hang your flies. An aggressive density compensated taper design allows flies to properly sink to effective depths.

Fast Intermediate
Cortland’s Fast Intermediate features a new hang markers at 14ft and 24ft for fishing the “hang”. An aggressive density compensated taper design allows flies to achieve proper depths. The 110ft overall line length gives you the option to cast long distances.
