Description / VMC Tokyo Rig
The VMC Tokyo Rig will provide you with various presentation options, this is an effective rig which is very versatile.
This rig will keep the bait and weight separated, your bait will hold horizontally as opposed to nose down on the bottom. In addition to that, the weight will not pop the fish’s mouth open on the hook set.
Originating from Japan, the Tokyo rig was originally designed for bass anglers who were looking for an elegant and highly efficient method for penetrating heavy matted weed cover and presenting a freely moving soft plastic lure.
The Tokyo Rig combines aspects of the drop shot rig where the lure is located above the weight at a set distance. As previously stated the rig was originally developed for flipping, pitching and punching which are various bass techniques, the Tokyo rigs utility extends far beyond.
Made from Hi-Carbon Steel, VMC uses premium quality high carbon steel to allow for a thinner hook with the highest quality point and durability. On top of that, the rig features a heavy duty wide gap forged hook for maximum strength.
Further features include a 3° offset point for increased hooking rate along with a stainless steel 2.5” dropper arm for customised rigging.
Perch anglers are having great success fishing the Tokyo Rig as a substitute for swinging jigs or cheberushka rigs. The Tokyo rig keeps the same articulation that the aforementioned rigs are renowned for but with the added benefit of being able to quickly change the worm weights without having to retie your full rig.
The VMC Tokyo Rig is available in different sizes for you to choose from in our drop down menu.
