Description / Trident Roto Bait Clip

The Trident Roto Bait Clip is an innovative bait clip designed and developed by Trident Tackle in the UK.

The Roto is a unique hydro release system that allows you to clip down your rig for a more compact and aerodynamic profile, aiding casting performance and distance and only upon impact with the water will the baited hooks be ejected from the clip. This system results in fewer tangles, improved casting distance and ensures your rig and bait is presented perfectly every cast.

Unlike other bait clips, the Roto holds your hook centrally along your rig body minimising wobble when casting. The strong stainless steel wire lead lock holds your lead securely, with no chance of it coming free during casting, and is more than strong enough to be used with power casting applications.

The Roto is compatible with a wide array of hook styles and patterns from size 6 through to a 7/0, depending on the pattern. Due to the hook being securely locked in place until the Roto hits the water, these clips are suitable to be used with all styles of casting including off the ground casts.

Used extensively by the Angling Active team for a number of years now, we have found the Trident Roto Clips to be one of the best bait clips available on the market. Catering for a wide range of hook sizes, these bait clips stay clipped up during flight and release upon impact virtually every time!

Trident Roto Bait Clip

Not sure about removing this in order to change weights, having said that there is no way the sinker can come off, baring if course the dreaded snap off. Make sure you use sinkers that do not incorporate their own form of impact shield and or bait clip. Larger size cod hooks can be a bit difficult to get in the clip imo. The quality of all the Trident gear I bought cannot be faulted. Plus they were a lump cheaper than their nearest rivals very similar items.
