Textreme Ghost Straggle Fritz 12mm is a specialized, synthetic core material designed for tying modern stillwater trout lures, blobs, FABs, and competition wet flies. It is engineered to offer a translucent, low-density alternative to standard dense chenille and opaque fritz materials.
The defining characteristic of Ghost Straggle Fritz is its ultra-fine, translucent micro-core and clear, glass-like synthetic fibres. Measuring 12mm in total diameter (fibre tip to fibre tip), the chenille allows light to pass directly through the body of the fly rather than blocking it. When wrapped around a hook shank, it creates a semi-translucent, slush-like silhouette that mimics the jelly-like transparency of daphnia, insect pupae, and small aquatic invertebrates.
Because the micro-core is exceptionally thin, it lays completely flat on the hook shank without building up bulk or adding unnecessary weight, allowing tiers to build neat fly profiles even on smaller hook sizes.
