Saltwater Flies

Saltwater flies can be tied to represent a wide range of natural food items to target fish around the UK coast or further afield. Flies tied to imitate small baitfish or sandeels are commonly used when targeting bass or pollock and will also catch a wide range of toothy fish species when fishing abroad in tropical waters. These flies are often retrieved back through the water quickly to imitate a fleeing baitfish.
Saltwater flies can also be tied to imitate smaller food items such as shrimps and invertebrates. These flies are available in a wide range of sizes to suit different target species and to represent different food sources and often include weighted eyes to make the fly sink quickly. Smaller shrimp patterns can be used in the UK to catch bass or mullet while larger flies will catch bonefish or permit in tropical waters.
