The RIO Elite Scandi Launch Shooting Head is the definitive tool for anglers who aspire to fish "fine and far off." This all-new, high-performance shooting head is meticulously designed to present smaller and traditional-style patterns with an unparalleled blend of fine touch, distance, and ease. It's the ultimate Scandi head for maximising the fun of fishing small flies on floating lines.
The Scandi Launch features a unique series of steps in its taper that concentrate the head's weight at the back. This puts more weight in the D-loop, making it easier to load the rod. The result is a more powerful cast with less effort, allowing you to achieve impressive distance with remarkable ease.
The front taper of this head has been meticulously redesigned for delicate turnover and graceful presentations. Its higher tip diameter ensures a consistent turnover of either long tapered nylon leaders or slightly heavier VersiLeaders, allowing you to deliver your fly quietly and efficiently without spooking wary fish.
Achieving optimal depth control and presentation is effortless with the Scandi Launch. Pair it with RIO VersiLeaders (available separately) to enhance your fishing experience. RIO offers two options: the RIO Medium VersiLeader, ideal for Scandi lines #8 and below, and the RIO Heavy VersiLeader, perfect for Scandi lines #9 and above.
Built on RIO’s revolutionary ultra-low stretch ConnectCore Plus, the Scandi Launch offers maximum performance and sensitivity. The low-stretch core gives you a direct connection to your fly, allowing you to feel subtle takes and provides enhanced control during the fight.
This head is built with SlickCast, the slickest, most durable coating on the market.
