The Mackenzie FX1 Fly Rod could be remembered as one of the biggest game changers in fly fishing history. Graphene, is about about 100 times stronger than the strongest steel and 15 times stronger than a diamond. This gives the rod outstanding strength and durability unmatched by previous carbon technologies. Graphene is also the thinnest and lightest material known to man which gives theses rods an ultra lightweight and flexible body. When you hold the FX1 in your hand and gently shake, the flex will be visible right down to halfway along the blank, indicating a medium action rod but the recovery astonishingly is less than a second. This ultra fast recovery provides speed within the rod, and in the hands of a capable caster, with the speed comes the great distance you are able to achieve when casting.

The huge advantage of incorporating Graphene through the use of an autoclave provides the rod with impeccable strength and within nearly any fishing scenario this rod will be virtually unbreakable (within reasonable limits of course). The Mackenzie FX1 Fly Rod is available in a 15ft #10 with a 4 piece construction and is supplied in it’s own, aluminium rod tube.
