Customer Reviews
It's a shame Hardy have discontinued the Zenith but I see that they have a new comparable model- the Zephrus coming out this month. I will be looking to buy the 10' #5 version when it becomes available. Very impressed with my purchase and the Zenith 9' is destined to become my "go-to" rod for most of my fishing. Thank you Angling Active.
This pretty much sums my opinion on the rod :):)
What a rod this is! In this length/ weight it is probably THE BEST rod money can buy-a truly ultimate fishing tool. I went for a Zenith as I was not entirely satisfied how Sage One #4 performs with lighter tippets-as good a casting tool it might be, it is quite unforgiving and does not protect well 7x and 8x tippets-lots and lots of breakages.
Enter Hardy Zenith and WOW! Just WOW! Soft tip perfect for light tippets and enough backbone to tame bigger fish.
Very accurate casts at 20-25 ft and a sniper in the range 30-50 ft. 70 ft-no problems-could zing them out there all day if needed.
Phenomenally light in the hand, so light actually that needs reels in he range 90-100 grams to balance it correctly.
So far-no downsides found.
All-in-all a fantastic rod!
