Greys Wing Streamflex Fly Rod

Introducing the Greys Wing Streamflex series, a lightweight high performance range of fly rods that have been designed with the river fly fishing enthusiast in mind. The Wing series feature an array of models within the range that have been designed to cover numerous river fly fishing applications, with shorter models for fishing with dry flies on small streams to longer models ideal for European style nymphing.

Designed and constructed with Powerlux carbon blanks which is a unique material that evenly distributes nano particles between each carbon fibre in the blank, helping to enhance the strength of the rod blank without adding additional weight. This technology also helps to create a lower profile blank with better balance which provides a nicer in hand feel and gives you improved line control.

The Greys Wing Streamflex Fly Rods feature a medium to fast action which makes it ideally suited to both the beginner and experienced angler. This action gives these rods more flexibility in the tip which provides you with increased sensitivity allowing you to detect bites with ease and be able to feel your flies ticking the bottom when nymphing. The added flex in the tip also gives you more confidence when playing larger fish on lighter tippets.

Fitted with high quality lined stripper guides on the lower sections and single foot snake guides throughout. Each top section is finished of with a hard chrome tip ring which is incredibly smooth and durable. On the longer models the tip section has been fitted with a snake guide below the tip ring which is designed to prevent line wrap when using fine nymphing leaders and tippets, whilst also helping to help keep your line away from the rod blank reducing friction during the cast.

Each rod has been fitted with a high quality AAA grade cork handle that provides a professional and long lasting finish. The reversed half wells handle provides incredible comfort and grip even during longer sessions and in wet conditions. Finishing off each rod is a high quality alloy reel seat with a wooden insert and a keyed sliding band for easy use. On the shorter models each reel seat features an up locking system and on the longer models a down locking reel seat which helps provide better balance. The dual locking design with a nylon cushion ring gives you piece of mind your chosen reel will be secured in place.

The Wing Streamflex series is a 4 piece configuration fly rod and each section features line up ID markers allowing you to precisely align your sections together before commencing fishing. Each rod comes supplied in a protective rod cloth bag and hard tube for the ultimate protection when travelling or storing. The rods are finished in an aesthetically pleasing red/grey colouration with black and red whippings and trims throughout.

The Greys Wing Streamflex Plus model features an additional 12” extension housed in the butt of the rod which can be added to take this model from 9’8” to 10’8”. This makes this particular model incredibly versatile - a great casting rod in the shorter length, the extension piece can be quickly added to give the angler a highly effective nymphing rod.
