Description / Fulling Mill Slotted Tungsten Conehead

The Fulling Mill Slotted Tungsten Coneheads are the professional tyer's choice for adding significant weight and a streamlined profile to high-performance flies. Engineered specifically for Salmon tube flies and large predator streamers, these coneheads allow your patterns to cut through the water column and reach the "strike zone" faster than traditional brass or lead alternatives.

Thanks to the high density of tungsten—which is nearly twice as heavy as brass—you can add maximum sinking power without increasing the physical bulk of your fly, maintaining a natural, lifelike silhouette that wary fish find irresistible.

The unique slot is a game-changer for versatility. It allows the conehead to slide effortlessly over the hook barb and bend of most fly tying hooks, as well as fitting perfectly onto plastic and metal tubes.

Superior Sinking Power: Made from premium-grade tungsten, these heads are designed for anglers who need to fish deep in heavy currents. They are ideal for "Point Weighting" streamers to create an enticing jigging action.

Streamlined Head Profile: Beyond adding weight, the conical shape provides a clean, professional finish to your fly, neatly covering the tie-in points of wings and hackles for improved durability and aesthetics.

Versatile Application: Whether you are tying Snaelda variations, Willie Gunns, or massive articulated Pike and Musky streamers, these coneheads provide the balance and depth control required for success.

Pro Tying Tip: Securing Coneheads on Tube Flies:
When tying tube flies with Fulling Mill Tungsten Coneheads, follow these steps for a bomb-proof finish:

Leave a suitable length of excess tubing (approx. 2-3mm) at the head of the fly before applying the conehead.

Slide the conehead into position against your tying materials.

To complete the fly, carefully apply a small amount of heat (using a lighter or flame) to burr the end of the tube. This creates a small "flange" that fixes the tungsten conehead permanently in place without the need for excessive glue.
