Description / Daiwa Fly Pack – Salmon Tubes

Tube flies are a modern and highly effective way to fish for salmon. The Daiwa Fly Pack – Salmon Tubes is a perfectly curated collection of four of the most popular and deadly salmon patterns.

This selection offers a great starting point for any angler looking to explore the benefits of tube fly fishing, bringing together a versatile range of flies that are a proven success on rivers across the UK and beyond.

The genius of a tube fly is that the hook is separate from the fly’s body, allowing you to use a smaller hook for better penetration and to easily change the hook without changing the fly itself.

This pack includes a classic Sunray Shadow on a 25mm plastic tube for fishing high in the water, as well as three patterns on brass tubes for getting down to depth: the Dee Monkey, Cascade Shrimp, and Ally's Shrimp.

This thoughtfully assembled selection is perfect for a variety of conditions and is a fantastic addition to any fly box

Know Your Flies: A Situational Guide
Tube flies are most effective when fished with an active retrieve or a natural "swing." The pack's variety of patterns and weights allows you to cover a wide range of conditions.

Fishing with the Sunray Shadow: The Sunray Shadow is a classic pattern for fast rivers. Its lightweight plastic tube allows it to be fished in the upper water column. Fish it with a fast retrieve, swinging it across the current, to imitate a fleeing baitfish.

Getting to Depth: The brass tube flies (Dee Monkey, Cascade, and Ally's Shrimp) are weighted to get down to the fish holding in the riverbed. Use a sinking fly line to get them to the desired depth and a slow, steady retrieve to keep them in the feeding zone.

The "Swinging" Technique: The most common way to fish these flies is to cast them across and down the river, allowing them to swing in the current. The weight of the tubes helps the fly fish at a consistent depth, while the current gives the fly a natural, lifelike movement.

Patterns Included:
1 x Sunray Shadow (25mm plastic tube)
1 x Dee Monkey (22mm brass tube)
1 x Cascade Shrimp (15mm brass tube)
1 x Ally’s Shrimp (15mm brass tube)
