Breakaway Cannon

The Breakaway Cannon is powerful and precise. To achieve accuracy along with distance, the most crucial aspect of your cast is holding down the line until the power stroke is complete. However, this is not always easy and can be painful without a mechanical device which is why the Breakaway Cannon is the perfect solution!

Designed for fixed spool reels, the Breakaway Cannon is mounted under the rod in line with the rings and directly over the spool. To use, tape the cannon securely to the butt in a comfortable position above or behind the spool rim. This will allow for significant space for the bale arm to rotate.

Additionally, when you are casting, release the trigger and pass line from the spool over the capstan and then depress the trigger with your index finger to trap the line and then disengage the bale arm. The cast is made as normal by releasing the trigger at the precise moment.

Furthermore, it is important to ensure that your clutch is tight before casting in areas where large fish are caught regularly. Winding your leader around the Cannon three times will allow you to cast with light clutch fitting.
