Description / Veniard Barred Cock Tails
The Barred Cock Tails are dyed cock tail feathers that have a barred effect throughout the design. These tail feathers are most commonly seen on wet and dry Trout flies but are so versatile that they can be used for many different kinds of fly tying.
These tails can be used for creating wings, knotted legs, tails and used as body material. The tail feathers can usually be found on Nymphs and are usually used to created a nice effect and jazz up traditional wet fly patterns.
One of the most popular flies that use the Barred Cock Tails is Sawyers Pheasant Tail Nymph. Others include examples like the Pheasant Tail Mirage Flashback Nymph and the classic Pheasant Tail.
