It's another top Simms product, and yet again the leader of creative technical fishing equipment has blown our minds! Match this with waders and wind/waterproof gloves and you are ready for the worst the weather can throw at you.
Some key features that impress us most are the dry cuff design keeping water out from your sleeves as well as the vast amount of discreet storage and their continued use of the superb YKK aquaguard zipper.
The new and improved gore-tex is much lighter and feels tough, reinforcing the knowledge that this jacket will survive the elements long into the future. Finally the interior gore-tex lining of the jacket has been upgraded since last year, so any gear you have on underneath with zips or wader buckles will not damage by rubbing. This is a new benchmark for fishing jackets of the future, a must have for any adverse weather on the water.
Completely updated for the 2015 season, this jacket features incredible 3 layer Gore Tex pro shell technology in the jacket material. This gives the jacket increased durability, excellent abrasion resistance and makes it much less likely to suffer from wear and tear.
The Simms G4 Pro Jacket is 15% lighter than previous versions and the innovative, highly water-resistant Dry Cuff design keeps water out of the sleeve when you are tailing fish or casting in the rain.
This jacket also boasts impressive storage space with a total of nine storage pockets, including fly box friendly bellowed and zippered chest options, two tippet pockets, a convenient sleeve stash, internal woven stretch storage and one heaping back compartment.

5 Great Jacket, First Class Service

I pre-ordered the new 2014 G4 jacket from Angling Active last year and to be honest the service was nothing short of superb. I was kept fully updated on when the jacket was ordered, how long it would take to arrive from supplier and finally when the shop recieved my jacket. I was also offered several different sizes and the opposite colour incase my initial choice of black didn't match my expectations when i eventually tried it on. It doesn't get any better than that.
As for the jacket i thought i would test it over many outings in all sorts of weather. I've been caught out in heavy continuous rain,snow,sleet and gusting winds and stayed perfectly dry and comfortable every time. I've also brushed past sharp bushes and heavy undergrowth on many occasions while wading and the jacket is like brand new. The layout of the jacket suits myself pefectly with just the right amount of strategically, well thought out pockets to suit my type of on the go fishing. You get what you pay for,and if properly looked after will last a very long time. Well worth the money.
