Scientific Anglers System 2L Fly Reel

The Scientific Anglers System 2L Reel is a fly reel with classic styling and design yet features modern build techniques and a powerful, super smooth Rulon drag and a fully perforated, open-cage design. This makes for a reel that will provide maximum durability and an air light weight.

The System 2L has an ultra strong, aluminium alloy frame and spool with a perforated design throughout to reduce weight. The reel is completed with a CNC machine finishing process that provides tighter tolerances between the frame and the spool and contributes to the reel’s overall smoothness. The polyurethane coating on the reel provides further durability and protection against abrasion and corrosion.

The open cage style of the System 2L fly reel vastly improves the light weight for easier handling and it minimises the need for additional parts for trouble-free maintenance. Located at the back of the reel is the disc drag mechanism that you can adjust to your required setting with the turn of the knob. The disc drag utilises a high tech Rulon pad material and a polished stainless steel disc for maximum precision drag settings and performance.

Changing the spool requires no tools and is incredibly easy and quick to do. Simply click the small switch down located on the front of the reel to release the spool and gently pull it out. To secure back in place, place over the reel and gently push and twist until you hear a click. Your spool will now be secured in place.

Available in two model sizes, the 6/7L is best for most mid-weight freshwater fishing. This model is very versatile and is an all-around performer. The 7/8L has a larger diameter with a faster retrieve rate and more capacity for more demanding applications.
