RIO Skagit Max Short

The RIO Skagit Max Short Shooting Head is only 20ft in length and features a powerful front end to easily cast flies and the fastest of sinking tips with complete ease.

The Skagit Max Short is ideally suited for shorter length Spey rods and Switch rods, around 13ft or less in length. This head utilises a special weight distribution that deeply loads rods for long, powerful casts.

Additionally, the subtle taper design generates smooth, easy loops and long, long distances. The head features an ultra-low stretch core for the best casting and fishing sensitivity.

For best performance, RIO recommends attaching the following head sizes to these shooting lines sizes:

200 to 400gr - .024’’/0.26’’ shooting line, or 25lb SlickShooter/GripShooter.
400 to 500gr -.030’’/.032’’ shooting line, or 35lb SlickShooter/GripShooter.
550 to 675gr -0.35’’/.037’’ shooting line, or 44lb SlickShooter/GripShooter.
675gr and heavier - .040’’/042’’ shooting line or 50lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
