Hatch Finatic Gen 2 Fly Reel

The Hatch Finatic Generation 2 Fly Reel is an evolution from the original. Designed with zero compromise on quality, performance improvements and aesthetic enhancements, the Finatic range is simply legendary.

The Gen 2 models feature a new 9 window frame design and a concave frame shape to reduce the weight without sacrificing durability. These models are fitted with a new handle and crank assembly which includes an aluminium post that replaces the previous stainless steel post. This means there are no dissimilar metals on the reel to cause hydrolysis when saltwater fishing.

This system also helps eliminate galvanic corrosion and ensures your reel spins effortlessly for years to come. Within this new system is Ultraflon brushing that will help keep the assembly moving free and smoothly even after continuous use in the salt.

Each reel is also fitted with a counter balance design to work perfectly with the handle and crank assembly. The reel has a low profile and the counter balance design enhances the smoothness and there is a new lip seal on the spindle side. This provides a better seal and keeps water, weather and particles out for the bearing cartridge for improved longevity.

The Generation 2 fly reels also have a sealed cartridge to keep the grease where the Hatch Manufacturers want it, as well as adding yet another layer of protection to an already bombproof fly reel. The bearing jacket and sleeves are constructed from a machined stainless steel jacket that will heat up and expand but also cool down and contract at the same rate. This means big, strong, hard-fighting fish can be controlled much easier when hooked.

5 Plus
This is the most versatile, "do-it-all" reel in the entire range. It is ideally suited to 5-7 weights, is great for all trout fishing, light steelheading and even saltwater fishing for bonefish.

7 Plus
Probably the most popular option from the range. This reel is ideal for bonefish, permit, steelhead and salmon. The best crossover reel around and bet suited to 7-9 weight rods.

9 Plus
Capable of handling 9-12 weights, this reel is great for the serious saltwater or spey fisherman.

11 Plus
This reel is the perfect choice for saltwater fishing and is ideally suited to 11 to 12 weight rods.
