The Starling Complete Skin from Veniard has very glossy purple/green coloured feathers and includes the wings and tail of the Starling bird. These are mainly used in wet and dry Trout fly tying.
The main body feathers from the Starling Complete Skin is mainly used by being wound as head hackle, particularly for Spider flies. The wings of the Starling can use their primary and secondary quills for creating upward wings on dry flies.
Common flies that have the Starling feathers are the Black Gnat and the Hares Ear (dry).
