Veniard Amherst Pheasant Head Grade 2

This is a great value Amherst Pheasant Head of Grade 2 quality that has both the tippets and the crest feathers. These feathers are a great choice for fly tying Salmon flies and in particular Steelhead flies and some Spider flies.

For topping and tail material on Salmon flies, the crest feathers are ideal for these patterns.

The silky tippet feathers are fairly small so are ideal for creating wings and cheek patterns on Pike flies. They are also used as hackle on Spider flies and are great as tail material and as a pair of matched wings on a fully dressed Salmon fly.

Compared to Grade 1 quality, Grade 2 is very similar and is ideal as a low cost option. This Amherst Grade 2 Head is good value for money as it contains a large amount of feathers and measures approximately 15cm in length x 6cm in width.
