Description / Vass Tex 175 Smock
Many fishermen (particularly sea) experience heavy rains and winds during fishing and found that their current waterproofs aren’t quite as waterproof as they expected. This is one of the reasons Vass developed the Vass-Tex 175 range to ensure our wearers are protected from the rain, wind and extreme water sprays.
Unusually lightweight yet strong and remarkably stretchy (up to 25%) this ensures comfort without restriction when casting.
Vass-Tex 175 Smock Edition 2 now features a wider collar, tougher fastening press-studs and a larger hood (allowing extra room when wearing a warm hoody & peaked cap). Vass purposely haven’t used a winter lining in this range so it can be used through the winter or summer leaving you the choice of layering underneath. Could this be the most waterproof and breathable smock in its class?

I recently bought one of these Vass jackets on the recommendation of a friend.
I've worn it twice now in really heavy rain and strong winds and was delighted by its performance.
It's light and roomy, leaving enough room for a few layers to keep warm as well as bone dry.
The loose fit of the jacket insures that casting is not impeded at all.
The hood design is great as it allows enough room to wear a hat or two and still be asleep to "snug" it in using the adjustment cords.
Super value and outstanding performance.
A must for Scottish winters and summers !
