Shimano Sustain FG Spinning Reel

The Shimano Sustain FG Front Drag Spinning Reel features a powerful X-Ship construction with smooth as silk performance and Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement that delivers top-shelf performance and a reel that truly lives up to its name.

The Sustain FG has an ultra light weight and an incredibly strong construction, built with a die-cast aluminium body and cold forged aluminium spool for superior stiffness and structural rigidity. Along with Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement, this spinning reel produces astounding cranking power, the kind you would expect from a premier model reel.

The AR-C line management spool greatly improves casting performance and includes an angled spool lip design. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. AR-C spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid.

The reel also features an Aero Wrap II Oscillation Wrap System ensures uniform line lay and winding shape by utilising a worm gear design to move the spool upward quickly and downward slowly. This will help to wind the line in a precise pattern, reducing friction, and giving smoother, longer casting ability.

The Shimano Sustain FG Spinning Reel is perfect for lure fishing, specialist, light saltwater spinning and match fishing at the highest levels. The 4000 and 5000 models have a powerful 4.8:1 gear ratio which provides excellent torque for playing hard fighting fish in extreme situations.
