Shimano Moocher Plus GT Reel

he Shimano Moocher Plus GT Reel is designed for drop-fishing / drift fishing, also known as mooching and is perfect for fishing for Salmon.

Mooching is very similar to trolling but does not use downriggers or planer boards and is a much slower method of fishing for Salmon.

This reel looks like a fly reel and attaches to your rod like a fly reel but that is the only similarities between the Moocher and fly fishing reels. It features a large capacity spool and can handle monofilament, fluorocarbon and braid with complete ease.

It is built with a powerful, waterproof Dartainium Carbon Drag system that engages only when the handle is not being turned so you fight the fish, not the drag. The reel has an incredibly smooth retrieve and a graphite frame and spool for maximum durability and strength.

There is also a sturdy metal palming ring and the handle features non-slip rubber grips for a secure hold.

The Shimano Moocher Plus GT Reel is primarily black in colour with gold and silver colour detailing throughout. We have the reel available in the 2000 size.
