Description / Shakespeare Sigma Supra Beachcaster Rod

The Shakespeare Sigma Supra Beachcaster Rods are a range of high performing rods that are perfect for different kinds of sea fishing from the beach or shore. With 4 models in the range to choose from, there is one that will suit virtually any shore anglers requirements.

These lightweight rods are constructed from ultra slim carbon fibre blanks for high durability and strength. Each rod features a medium to fast action for excellent versatility and the models in this range are designed to suit every aspect of surf casting, bass fishing and pier fishing.

The action produces a deeper feel in the blank and allows you to easily switch your technique depending on your fishing situation. The deeper flex helps reduce the risk of breaking off a fish and can still manage easy long range performance.

Each rod also features a white tip for excellent bite detection and each one is rated at 4-8oz. The Shakespeare Sigma Supra Beachcaster includes a sleek and stunning shrink wrap handle and is primarily black in colour with red detailing.

The different models available in this range include the 12ft 2pc, 12ft 3pc, 12ft Tele and the 13ft 3pc.

Light rod with hidden power
Review by john
First outing last week to mixed rough ground, this rod is very light to handle, a sensitive tip but with hidden power in the lower sections,Daiwa SL30SH reel loaded with 0.35 15lb daiwa tournament line, a tapered 60lb shock leader, clipped down trace and a 6oz lead, after a couple of test casts to set up the reel i did a full pendulum to see how the rod handled under extreme load and it was not disappointing, the action is what i describe as tippy and not like some of the stiffer rods on the market which really helps bite detection, the playing of a fish is a delight with a sensitive tip yet the more you lean into a fish that's when the real power of the lower sections comes in.
All in all i am delighted with this rod and would give it 5 stars for looks, weight and price and recommend this rod
