DetailsOne of the fastest growing aspects of saltwater fishing is LRF or Light Rock Fishing. This sees the use of ultra light tackle and lightweight jigheads baited with artificial and natural worm baits to target smaller shore and inshore species.
These include wrasse, pollack, bass, flounder, coalfish, shannies, sea scorpions and many more that live in rock pools, alongside piers and breakwaters, close in to harbour walls, and off rock ledges. It is also popular with kayak anglers working both inshore and offshore shallow ground. It is also proving the best way to introduce younger people to sea fishing for the first time.
In recognition of this fast expanding form of fishing Shakespeare have introduced two new LRF rods in to their highly popular Agility range of saltwater rods.
The lightweight, slim blanks feature supple ultra responsive tip sections for maximum bite detection, but with power then phasing in progressively designed to feed vital information straight back in to the hand. This allows you to literally “feel” the lure over the ground as you seek out where the fish are lying, but also to fully work light lures with the minimum of hand movement.
Available in ideal lengths of 6’7” casting 0.5 to 7g, and 7’ rated to cast 5 to 15g, the Agility LRF rods are ideal for all forms of LRF fishing.
Offering incredible value for money, they also feature quality ZOG Guides throughout.

- Great fun for trout and perch can even be used for light feeder fishing if your mad Review by Ruairi (Created 08/10/2015)
- First impressions are of a well put together fishing rod, the cloth bag is more than enough to keep it in. When coupled with a 1000 series reel, it has really good balance. The inclusion of a 'keeper' ring is a big plus. The white quiver tip aids the visual side of things very much, even more so in low light conditions. Still not tried it out fishing, but I have no qualms about the product. At this price point highly recommended. Review by DropShot (Created 30/11/2014)
