Description / Savage Gear Roadrunner XLNT3
The Savage Gear Roadrunner XLNT3 is a complete range of lure fishing rods, each with a superb feel, balance and design.
They feature perfect Toray carbon blanks for phenomenal strength and power for handling hard fighting fish. The Toray carbon also helps keep the rod light in weight with slim blanks whilst maintaining high durability.
The rod is fitted with Coil Control guides which feature a high rise guide with a small entry diameter and then a second guide with the same design but with an even smaller diameter. The guides then taper smaller all the way to the tip and the design is to help make the coils as minimal as possible when leaving the shooting guide.
This keeps your line away from the blank, ensuring it doesn’t touch it when casting and allows your line to pass through with minimal friction on the guides to achieve long casting distances. The rod is fitted with a comfortable TPE, no-memory handle for a steady grip and Alien lock-down reel seats for maximum feel and performance.
All rods feature a standard grip except for the larger 7ft models. The 7ft 20-70g and the 7ft 100g versions are fitted with a trigger grip.
The Savage Gear Roadrunner XLNT3 is available in various models and each rod is supplied in a Ready-to-Fish deluxe rod bag.

5 Cracking Travel Rod
Review by Stewie
Bought the 7ft 5-18g travel version and am very impressed after using it twice in the 2 days following receipt. Very, very light and casts a 10g spinner a long way. Easily as far as my regular 9ft Majorcraft which cost twice as much. The 4 piece design is well thought out with female handle/male spigot for the bottom half, regular joint for the mid section and taper joint for the tip section. Although its a 4 piece the design has the effect that it handles like a regular 2 piece and should be just as strong. Nice sensitive tip and can feel the lure spinning on the retrieve. Had a couple of hard fighting trout to 7lb and the rod had plenty of backbone and reserve to land without fuss. I'd describe the rod as medium to fast action and balances well with a size 2500 Shimano/3000 Diawa reel. Very pleased with this rod, so much so I bought another (10-40g version)
