RIO Technical Trout

The RIO Technical Trout fly line has a long, fine front taper for the lightest of presentations and delicacy. This line is perfect for use with dry flies, nymphs, soft hackles and emergers.

This line has a long head and back taper which is to increase loop control when carrying long lengths of line or long casts. In addition to that, it will allow anglers to make precise casts to rising fish while the weight distribution will make it easy to turn over long leaders for finicky feeders at range.

Furthermore, the Maxcast float tip technology allows the tip to float more than twice as high as regular line tips, without any increase in diameter. That puts maximum floatation right where you need it for reduced drag, longer presentations and quieter pickups.

The RIO Maxcast line coating has been made with a groundbreaking proprietary formula. Maxcast lines float higher, shoot farther, last longer and stay cleaner. In addition to that, the coatings advanced hydrophobic chemistry actively pushes water away from the line. This results in radically improved floatation and reduced dirt adhesion.

The line also includes AgentX technology, AgentX floating lines can use an inner layer along with more buoyant microspheres whereas the outer layer is formulated to provide maximum toughness and shooting ability. This technology provides the best of both worlds.

The RIO Technical Trout Fly Line is available in both weight forward and double taper options and is built with a supple core and coldwater coating.
