Description / RIO DirectCore Tarpon
The RIO DirectCore Tarpon Fly Line features a short, powerful front taper which will allow you to cast large flies with ease! There is also a long back taper to provide you with stable casts at range, quick pickups and 2nd shot casts to moving fish.
Each line has been built on Rio’s low-memory DirectCore which is incredibly easy to stretch, lies perfectly straight on the water and it retains the stiffness that is needed for you to cast in hot conditions. It is also 25% stronger than other monofilament cores of equal size.
DirectCore is 25% stronger than other monofilament cores of equal size and stretches 30% less at the breaking point. The hard tropical coating will not wilt in the heat and there is a neat, bullet-proof welded loop on the front and rear end for fast rigging.
The AgentX technology utilises two layers through the line to provide maximum toughness and shooting ability. The XS technology (Extreme Slickness), focuses on creating an ultra slick line with dirt repelling tendencies. This makes the fly line slicker, more stable and makes it far less likely to attract dirt.
The line also includes a SureFire design which is a triple colour marking system, this makes it easy to gauge exact distances with a quick glance. There is also the Easy ID marker which indicates the model and line size and it is neatly printed on to the fly line itself.
The fly line has a mid-length head of around 40ft and is an fantastic all-round tarpon line.
