Trolling

Trolling is a method of fishing usually carried out from a moving boat and involves setting multiple lines with either baits or lures. In the UK anglers will often target Species like Trout and Salmon, Pike, Zander, Ferox Trout and Saltwater species like Pollack and Bass. Downriggers and Divers are used to maintain an accurate depth whilst planer boards allow the angler to maintain a vertical spread (ie spread your lure or bait away from the boat) and are massive advantage when fishing multiple lines. Items of tackle like line counter reels allow you to monitor the length of line out which will have an effect on which depth the lure or bait will obtain. The angler will consider the line length, line thickness and trolling speed amongst other variables to repeatedly present the lures or bait into the fish’s strike zone. At Angling Active you will find a range of specially designed rods for Trolling from brands such as Shimano, Okuma and Savage Gear as well as Downriggers, weights and accessories from key brands like Cannon.
