Orvis Clearwater Switch Rod

The Orvis Clearwater Switch Rod allows you to go two handed for Seatrout/Salmon and then swap for overhead casting if needed for Trout. The Clearwater Switch rods utilise award-winning Helios technology, making them light in weight, easy to cast and they offer ultimate versatility in fly fishing.

Each rod features all chrome snake guides with a high grade cork handle and a cork and composite fighting butt. The rod also includes a beautiful, up-locking gun smoke aluminium Spey reel seat with a woven graphite spacer.
We have the Clearwater Switch rods in the 11ft #7 and the 11ft #8 as we believe these are the most popular sizes for our waters in the UK. One of the best features about these models is that the shorter 11ft length of the rod will make it much easier for you to cast if you are in tight and challenging environments.

The 11ft #7 rod is ideal for chasing seatrout on substantial water, and can carry the battle to summer salmon and grilse when the opportunity presents itself. Lightweight and comfortable to cast, this is the ideal all-around rod for the new two-handed angler.

The 11ft #8 is powerful enough for large water yet nimble for smaller salmon and seatrout waters. This model can readily be under or over weighted with a variety of lines, allowing for versatility in a number of situations and conditions.

The range of Orvis Clearwater Switch Rods have a 4 piece construction and feature a stunning, emerald green blank and dark olive wraps with silver tipping. Each rod is supplied with its own green cordura rod tube with a zip.
