Orvis Battenkill Fly Reel

The Orvis Battenkill Fly Reel embodies a flawless and minimalist design, featuring a classic, click and pawl drag system. This reel boasts a highly durable and robust construction, sure to give you reliable performance.

The click and pawl drag features a technically enhanced; four position system that allows you to control the speed by gently palming the reel. The four drag positions provide little resistance and this is so you can primarily use your palm to effectively slow down the fish by resting your palm against the spinning spool when the fish runs. The drag system also creates a loud, desirable clicking sound from the ratchet mechanism inside the reel.

Each reel in this range is machined from heavy duty, bar stock aluminium for improved strength, durability and power. Even with a heavy duty construction, the reel manages to maintain a light weight, in order to balance perfectly with your fly rod.

The Battenkill sizes I, II and III feature a narrow designed spool for less line stacking on retrieve and the IV and V sizes have a larger spool diameter for higher line retrieval rates. The smaller sizes (I, II and III) are designed with a side plate featuring drilled holes throughout to keep the weight to a minimum. The larger sizes, the IV and the V, feature a solid side plate design. Each reel is a black nickel colour and features laser engraved logos.

The Orvis Battenkill Fly Reel is available in five sizes to suit various fishing applications. The size I is for 1-3 weight lines, the size II is for 3-5 weight lines, the size III is for 5-7 weight lines, the size IV is for 7-9 weight lines and the largest size, the V is for 9-11 weight lines.

You can adjust the Battenkill to either left or right hand wind and each reel is supplied with it's very own, high quality, drawstring bag.
