Guinea Fowl hackle is incredibly eye catching as they have natural, spotted markings and produce a phenomenal colour outcome when dyed. Even throughout the colour changing process, the markings are still preserved and in turn, makes this feather a popular choice for fly tiers.

These hackle feathers are most commonly used by being wound as head hackle and throat hackle on Salmon flies. They are also popularly used as head hackle on Bumbles and other wet Trout flies. One of the most popular colours of Guinea Fowl is the blue colour as many fly tiers use it as a low cost substitute for Blue Jay hackles.
