About the Greys GR70 Double Handed Fly Rod

Brand new for 2016, from the Greys GR rod series range is the Greys GR70 Double Handed Fly Rod. This double hander is a power casting machine and it's incredible performance and design is utterly stunning.

This piece of art is the new, improved and vastly superior upgrade from the Greys GR50 Double Handed rod. This rod will keep you on your toes with it's monumental casting and strength.

The fast action of the GR70 Double Handed Fly Rod produces a rigid rod body with a small amount of flex in the tip. Now this may initially seem as a disadvantage but this actually allows the rod to perform outstandingly. If you feel as though you have mastered a good casting technique and have good timing, the rod's fast action will work with you to produce longer casts and the strength in the rod will help you bring in larger fish quicker and easier.

The fast action is also hugely beneficial in windy conditions and when this concept is joined with the rod's main material, high modulus carbon, this rod becomes a powerful machine. This material builds the fundamentals of the rod's core and compared to the GR50 Double Handed rod, the GR70 is much more rigid and solid. To avoid brittleness, the rod is skilfully constructed and the final results produce a highly durable and robust rod that is light in weight and highly sensitive.

The Greys GR70 Double Handed Fly Rod is a 4 piece rod and features a light weight and beautifully designed 2 part skeletal reel seat with a carbon woven spacer. To get you out fishing quicker, you can line up your rod eyes much more efficiently and easily due to the rod line up I.D markers.

With a dark gunmetal grey coloured body including silver and red coloured highlights, the Greys GR70 Double Handed Fly Rod is an unrivalled beauty in it's cosmetic and aesthetic detail. About the GTS300
Another brother of the GTS family, welcome the Greys GTS300 Fly Reel, offering a great strength to weight ratio and tough aluminium construction, this reel offers outstanding value for money.

The GTS300 is built from a full die cast aluminium construction, offering high durability and strength. The strength to weight ratio is excellent, still keeping the reel light in weight and feeling comfortable in use.

The reel has a large arbor design, allowing for increased backing capacity, quick line recovery, and features a high quality Rulon disc drag system for ultra smooth performance. The spool for this reel is simply removed using the screw captive release system and it has easy left to right hand conversion.

The Greys GTS300 Fly Reel has a similar style to the GTS600, incorporating an eye catching armoured ridged design on the back. The reel is black in colour and available in two models for you to choose from.

About the GTS500
The Greys GTS500 Fly Reel is the replacement for the popular GX500 Cartridge Reel. The GTS500 is manufactured from Black, Die-cast aluminium and is far superior in design and consistent in build quality to its predecessor.

The GTS500 is the most affordable of the two options in the Greys GTS Cartridge Reel range. We think the rulon disc drag system is more than adequate for the situations these reels will commonly face. With a single turn of the drag knob you have the softest to the hardest of drag. The large arbour design increases line retrieve speeds and provides superior capacity for more than enough backing. The clear polycarbonate cassette spools aid with line identification and make the reel very attractive. Three spools are included in the package but extra spools are available individually for you to use this superb reel with all of your lines.

The two sizes of 5/6/7 and 7/8/9 have presented an option for the angler to balance their #7 rod with the smaller or larger versions of the reels. This is a feature we have appreciated within our store when suggesting suitable matches to customer's existing or new rods and lines. The quick “tool-less” change of winding direction is ideal and changing spools whilst on the water is as effortless as we think it could possibly be.

About the GTS800
One of the bigger brothers in the GTS series is the Greys GTS800 Fly Reel, boasting an armoured, machine styled design and modern technical details with an impressive price point that is sure to put this reel on your winners list.

Constructed from robust and outstandingly durable, full 6061 bar stock aluminium; this reel has incredible strength and reliability. The design is certainly an eye catcher, with unique armoured ridged patterns throughout the construction and vented side plates to help air out your line.

The Rulon disc drag system provides exceptionally smooth and powerful performance and the larger arbor design provides extra backing capacity and faster line retrieve speeds.

The quick spool release design on this reel features a screw cap which you can twist to release the spool. Then gently pull the spool out to remove it from the reel and you are ready to change to a different spool.

About the GTS900
The Greys GTS900 Fly Reel is the newest brother in the GTS range and lives up to being Greys’ flagship freshwater model with its cosmetically stunning design and enhanced specifications throughout.

Built with a heavy duty 6061 bar stock aluminium construction, this fly reel boasts phenomenal strength and long lasting durability that does not compromise weight. The reel feels amazingly light in weight and easy to handle with a large arbour design.

The centralised twin Rulon disc drag provides the reel with incredibly smooth and powerful line control and the large arbor style will give you a larger backing capacity and help increase the speed of line retrieves.

The spools can easily be changed using the lever spool release function. This design makes it convenient and quick to change spools by flicking a small leaver that is located behind the front spokes. This will release the spool and it will hold your spool securely in place.

You can also change the GTS900 from left or right hand wind effortlessly due to the “tool-less” conversion feature and there are spare spools available to fit the various models from the GTS900 range.

About the QRS Fly Reel
The Greys QRS Fly Reel utilises a ground-breaking, cassette spool Quad Rating System that provides anglers with a reel that is highly versatile, allowing you to use the one reel for a variety of fishing situations.

This reel is built from a robust, durable and light weight full block of 6061 bar stock aluminium. The reel also includes a Rulon disc drag, providing you with impeccably smooth performance and allowing you to go from a light to heavy drag in seconds with a turn of the drag knob.

The Quad Rating System uses cassette spools that allow you to fish 4 different line sizes on the same reel. This not only provides convenience but makes it adaptable to be used in different situations, on your different weighted rods and with multiple lines.

The spools are made from strong, lightweight polycarbonate and can be easily changed using the unique QRS locking system. Simply flick the switch to release the spool and change to the desired size you require.

Each fly reel is supplied with 4 cassettes, two of each line size. As an example, the 5/6/7/8 reel will be supplied with 2 x 5/6 cassettes and 2 x 7/8 cassettes. Each reel is also supplied with identification pins as well.

The QRS keeps in the same design as the newer fly reels from Greys, including an armoured construction throughout, with a modern look. The reel has a dark grey colour, with red colour accents for stand out contrast.

About the Greys Platinum Shooting Head System Kit
The Greys Platinum Shooting Head System Kit offers anglers extreme power and distance with a dynamic shooting head and including three tips, a running line and tip wallet all in the one package.

This kit was specially designed and developed by World Spey Casting Champion Ian Gordon and the kit includes a practical short casting head. This shooting head features a dynamic taper, leading to a high energy transfer for producing incredible distance and optimal power and turning over heavy flies with ease.

Inside the kit is also a slick, running line with a large welded loop and three tips. The 12ft long tips are highly durable, with loop to loop connections on both ends and are supplied with a matching Greys tip wallet. The tip wallet is grey and red in colour and is split into sections for keeping your tips separate and has a zip closure.

The kits are available in a floating and intermediate density.

The floating kit is supplied with a 28ft long, cream shooting head and a high-vis orange coloured running line that will provide optimum casting and bite indication. There is three tips included, a floating cream coloured tip, an intermediate green tip and a grey coloured sinking tip of 3ips.

The intermediate kit includes a 34ft, green coloured shooting head and a high-vis orange coloured running line. There are also three tips in the intermediate pack and these are a green, intermediate tip, a grey coloured sinking tip of 3ips and a dark grey tip with a sink rate of 5ips.
