About the GR70 Competitor Special Fly Rod
Presenting one of the most supreme members of the new Greys 2016 rod range, the Greys GR70 Competitor Special Fly Rod. This rod is built to endure the exciting and fast nature of fly fishing (although not specifically for) competitions and will certainly provide you with the upper hand against your competitors.
This Competitor Special Fly Rod has been specifically designed and constructed for competition anglers. Built with ultra innovative high 3M Powerlux carbon technology, this provides the rod with immense strength to handle the intense use throughout a fishing competition and gives the rod an excellent weight considering the power it holds.
The Powerflux technology has 40% nano particles spread in the resin and distributed evenly and densely throughout the entire rod. Placed strategically throughout the carbon and packed tightly in, this seals the Powerlux technology resin into the material and results in a astoundingly strong and powerful rod.
The solid and stiff body created by the Powerlux tech vastly improves the ability for you to pull your fish in much quicker and cast fast. This super fast action created from the technology will also help you get fish under control far quicker as well as cast heavy sink lines with ease.
The technology provides a long lasting and highly durable rod body and this rod has been specifically designed to deal with long and high density lines so you can seriously step up your competition game. Additional durability is provided in the AAA high quality, full wells handle with a fighting butt, made of composite cork to withstand heavy handling.
These 4 piece Competitor Special Fly Rods feature rod I.D line up marks so you can efficiently line up your rod eyes so you can get set up and out on the water much quicker. Included on the blank is a design of a competition hook size guide. This provides the measurements for length of your hook and the overall length of the fly that complies with international rules. Each rod is also supplied in it's very own high quality, hard partitioned rod tube.
The final touches on this power machine in the handle really finish off this rod beautifully. The Greys GR70 Competitor Special Fly Rod features an aesthetically sleek and stunning 2 part skeletal reel seat and a slick carbon woven spacer.
The Greys GR70 Competitor Special Fly Rod has a smooth dark gunmetal black coloured body along with red highlights and a gold Powerlux certified design. This rod is available in a 9ft6 or a 10ft size with different AFTM ratings that you can select from our drop down menu.

About the GTS700
The Greys GTS700 Fly Reel is a highly impressive reel that is part of the GTS series from Greys. The GTS700 is the replacement for the popular GX700 Cartridge Reel.
We think that the GTS700 reel is superior in comparison to it's younger brother, the GTS500, in it's design and construction. The GTS500 is certainly impressive for the price but the GTS700 boasts quality, durability and is certainly far more advanced in it's build.
The main difference between the reels is that the GTS700 has a strong and long lasting aluminium bar stock 6061 frame construction and features a die-cast spool carrier. When we handled the reel, we could feel the combination of these two materials working together. The reel feels surprisingly light in weight but you can easily feel that it is sturdy and long lasting.
The GTS700 features certainly impressed us. The large arbour design increases line retrieve speeds that provides superior capacity for more than enough backing and the Dual Rulon drag system gave us much smoother line control.
Another point we love about the reel is the clear polycarbonate cassette spools. With the GTS700, you receive three in the package and they all feature a line ID system. This very attractive feature helps you identify the type of line you are using with the supplied pins and makes the process of identifying your line when you’re fishing incredibly easy.
Additionally, this reel makes changing to left or right hand wind effortless due to the “tool-less” feature and changing spools is a quick and easy process as well.
With it's powerful, high quality and performance combined with easy use and smooth control, we think the Greys GTS700 reel is a very attractive purchase.
The GTS700 is an ideal and reliable choice of reel for when you are fly fishing for Trout and Salmon.
The Greys GTS700 fly reel is supplied 7/8/9 and is supplied in it's own reel case with 2 additional spools.
Bar stock 6061 frame and die-cast spool carrier
Unique line ID system, with coloured pegs supplied
Captive spool release screw
Large arbour design
Dual Rulon disc drag system
Tool less left to right conversion
New clear modified polycarbonate cassette spool
Supplied with 2 additional spools in reel case
About the Greys Platinum Fly Line
The Greys Platinum Fly Line is one of the best performing all round fly lines on the market today. The extended front and rear tapers and the long belly of the line gives tremendous distance and subtle presentation.
The low-diameter running line has less air resistance for increased line speed, easier mending and longer distance. The subtle, memory-free coating irons out loops and makes for long, smooth casts and great line presentation.
The floating lines are available in either heron grey for stealth or high-visibility orange for increased visibility at distance. Completing the range are three sub-surface lines, an intermediate, medium sinking and fast sinking line.
