The Golden Pheasant Half Tippet Collar has feathers that are used frequently in Salmon as well as wet Trout fly tying, these feathers come in 3 different dyed versions and look vivid and colourful.
These tippet feathers are used in pairs for wings on Salmon fly patterns and can be used for underwings or more commonly, as tails in Wet Trout fly tying. The feathers come in a variety of sizes, making it ideal for many different patterns.
Common Fly patterns that are tied with Golden Pheasant Tippet Feathers are the Black Kee Hee, Peter Ross and also Ally's Shrimp.

3 Good product but Veniards could do better

I was very pleased with the red dyed and orange dyed Veniard Golden Pheasant Half Tippet Collar I received a while ago. So much so that when requiring a purple dyed PT Tippet, I naturally ordered it. The Purple was not quite as I expected, considerably darker and not Veniards best quality material. Dying a natural material Purple is very difficult anyway and the result is not always foreseen. The 2 Purple half collars show either signs of burning at the tips or the collars are not from best quality birds; I suspect the latter. I will use the Purple tippets as they are nearly black and black is a good silhouette colour, I may mix them with orange too. My comments are in no way a bad reflection on Angling Active; I have purchased over £500 worth of products from Angling Active and am very pleased with their services, rather, it is a comment on Veniards quality control.
