The Fladen Fishing Planer Board is a bright yellow board designed for trolling, the whole concept is to allow lures or trolled baits to be trolled parallel to the boat on both the left and right hand side of the boat.
Theis planer board is yellow in colour and sports two clips. The clip on the extension arm is known as a release clip, and the clip at the rear is a secure clips that allows the planer board to run down the line after a fish releases the line from the release clip.
To fish the planer board, drop your lure over the side of the boat and pay out the amount of line that you want your lure or bait to run at. Take your planer board and attach the line into the clip at the rear end of the planer board, this will allow the line to run freely up and down this clip - this is required when a fish hits the lure/bait and stops you losing the planer board.
Then attach the release clip to the line (this clip will release when a fish takes your lure or bait) Once you have clipped the planer board to your line, you can drop it over the edge of the boat - please ensure the tapered end of the planer board is going in the same direction as your boat. Once the planer board hits the water it will start running parallel to your boat.
The more line you pay out from your reel will determine the distance the planer board will run from the boat.
The Fladen Fishing Planer Board is an ideal entry level planer board for a newcomer to trolling.
