Daiwa Whisker Pike Deadbait Rod

UK made, the Whisker Deadbait rods are yet another step in the evolution of pike rods by Daiwa. Building on the best of Daiwa’s years of experience, a simple yet effective tool capable of any pike deadbait angling circumstance is what has been produced at an attainable price point without sacrifice.

Available in two lengths of either 10ft with a 4lb test curve for the boat angler and the more popular 12ft version for the bank angler in 3 and 3.5lb curves the range provides a max casting weight of 5oz on a recommended line rating of 10-20lb breaking strain.

A maximum casting distance of 100+ yards (12ft rod) and 70+ yards (10ft rod) is more than enough for most deadbaiting scenarios

Upon inspection, the rods have a matt black finish for stealthy approaches and low profile setups. This quality blank finish blankets what Daiwa is renowned for within their pike rods featuring a balanced magnum taper action. This means it has a low flex butt end through to a semi-fast action at the tip and quick recovery suitable for longer range fishing and having confidence to heave your terminal tackle through weed beds.

The spigot joint provides further strength and adds to the faster action and to keep the line whether it be braid or mono running faultlessly. The titanium framed, 3 legged Fuji Sic guides, are heat resistant to fast running line, 12x as strong as steel and rust free. The tip top is also Fuji made.

The reel seat is simple and as you would expect from Daiwa and finally the full butt and handle is EVA foam for comfort, durability and a little warmer to touch on cold days with some insulation properties.
