About the Daiwa Trout Fly Rod
The Daiwa Trout Fly Rod is the entry level fly rod from Daiwa. It offers fantastic casting performance and a forgiving yet powerful action, that is great for newcomers to the sport.
This range of single handed rods feature a half wells handle on the smaller AFTM ratings and a full wells handle on the other sizes. Don't let the low price tag put you off, as these rods perform well above their price point and will manage to easily punch tight loops in the wind.
The medium fast action allows you to feel the flex of the rod yet still maintain a high level of stiffness near the tip to protect you from breaking off a fish. This action will also help produce enough power in the rod to improve your line speed and turnover flies easily in headwind. This rod will suit a wide range of fishing styles, anywhere from dry fly to heavy nymphing.
The carbon blank on the rod offers excellent durability and reliability and is fitted with high quality, aluminium oxide stripper guides and single leg snake guides. The handle is made of quality cork and features an aluminium reel seat.
All the rods in this range have a 3 piece construction and are primarily black in colour with a stunning Forest green coloured blank section near the top of the handle. There is silver detailing around the guide wraps and each rod is supplied with it's own cloth bag.
You can select your choice of Daiwa Trout Fly Rod from our drop down menu. These rods are available in a variety of lengths and AFTM ratings, suited to cover a range of freshwater, single handed applications.

About the Daiwa Trout Fly Line
Assisting you on the weight forward floaters Daiwa have applied a colour change where the tip meets the running line. Two colour options available.
On the double taper version the ‘mid point’ is also indicated by a distinct colour change. You have the option to switch direction.
For those occasions where you need the front of the fly line to be submerged Daiwa have developed a ‘Inter Tip’. Designed around a weight forward profile the ‘tip’ will slowly sink at ½” to ¾” per second. Its translucent green colour provides that added touch of stealth. The change to the brighter, opaque section indicates the floating running line.
The full length of the intermediate is a darker, translucent green and is designed to sink at 1 ¼” to 1 ½” per second.
The medium sinker, brown throughout, will descend at 3” per second and the black ‘fast sink’ version gets you deeper at 5” per second.
All lines are 30yds long and supplied with two mini connectors.
