About the Daiwa Lexa Fly Rod
Combining the skills and knowledge of Hywel Morgan with British design and rod making sees the amazing LEXA collection ready to serve across every discipline of fly fishing.
Utilising Daiwa's unique HVF; high volume fibre, they have been able to craft four choices of fly rod style with real touches of refinement.
The river specials are two 9ft models with dedicated ratings of #4 and #5. Leading with distinctly responsive tips they allow for faster line pickup and swifter application of casting power for short, sharp, accurate casting.
The Nymph Specials at 8ft #3 and 9ft #3/4 utilise a similar 'tip feel' but incorporate a 1 foot intermediate section that extends and transforms the performance of each model. This lends them well to French Leader set ups as well as standard lines. It also lets the angler quickly adjust to suit changing conditions or presentation requirements.
For the stillwater angler, offering five single rated models at 9ft6 to 10ft it is the versatility within each rod to fish across the spectrum of line densities, from floating to intermediate and deeper. However the 10ft models will handle the broadest span of lines, such is the challenge faced by the modern competition angler.
Rounding off the collection is as an amazing Switch rod. Its length of 11’3” may have originally been favoured by loch style anglers but today it is likely to be better suited to sea trout or grilse on smaller rivers and spate waters. Use it single handed with ease but a simple application of the extension handle option and you will be able to roll cast and cover runs like a double handed rod.

About the Daiwa NewEra Reel
The NewEra fly reel is a world first and takes the cartridge spool system to a whole new level.
Each cartridge is entirely reversible and made from precision machined aluminium, finished off with colour coded anodising. Location is achieved via a recessed channel which meets three spring loaded ball bearings set within the spool.
A central, screw down cap secures the spool into place. When loosened the cap remains in place ensuring it cannot be lost.
The disc drag system is powered by carbon washers for smooth powerful line release. Adjustment is made easier thanks to a knurled, easy grip dial.
About the Daiwa Trout Fly Line
Assisting you on the weight forward floaters Daiwa have applied a colour change where the tip meets the running line. Two colour options available.
On the double taper version the ‘mid point’ is also indicated by a distinct colour change. You have the option to switch direction.
For those occasions where you need the front of the fly line to be submerged Daiwa have developed a ‘Inter Tip’. Designed around a weight forward profile the ‘tip’ will slowly sink at ½” to ¾” per second. Its translucent green colour provides that added touch of stealth. The change to the brighter, opaque section indicates the floating running line.
The full length of the intermediate is a darker, translucent green and is designed to sink at 1 ¼” to 1 ½” per second.
The medium sinker, brown throughout, will descend at 3” per second and the black ‘fast sink’ version gets you deeper at 5” per second.
All lines are 30yds long and supplied with two mini connectors and a line spool.
