Daiwa J-Braid X8 Braided Line is one of the most popular braided lines on the market today and is used by anglers globally, for everything from ultralight lure fishing to hauling up deep sea monsters. This 8 strand braid offers ultra low stretch, incredible suppleness and is incredibly thin for its breaking strain meaning it performs way above its price tag and won't let you down when you need it most!

The J-Braid X8 is an 8 carrier braid constructed from 8 strands of high quality, Japanese-made yarn which results in an ultra smooth, supple braid with superior strength and abrasion resistance. The resulting softness and smoothness reduces friction when the line is travelling through the guides and off the reel allowing the angler to cast further and with greater accuracy whilst making the braid quieter while reeling through the guides. The high breaking strain to diameter ratio of J-braid also allows anglers to fish an incredibly thin line without sacrificing on strength, helping to reduce line drag on the water and in the air allowing the angler remain in contact even in deep water or on windy days.

The ultra low stretch properties of J-braid is a major benefit for all styles of angling. Lure anglers will benefit by being able to remain in direct contact with their lure at all times, registering the subtlest of takes and being able to work their lure efficiently and impart the smallest of movements, whilst anglers fishing baits while having greater bite detection and will find it far easier to set the hooks on fish, even at range. The low stretch and high strength of J-braid also makes it easier for anglers to retrieve lures and hooks from snags, helping prevent losing expensive lures or leaving baited hooks in the water.

The round shape and supple nature of J-braid makes it perfect for fishing on spinning reels, baitcasters and multiplier reels. J-braid spools perfectly and lays nicely on the reel which helps prevent "digging in", even under extreme pressure, helping to prevent backlashes and tangles when using multiplier and baitcaster reels.

J-Braid is available in 3 colour options, dark green, chartreuse and a multicolour option. The dark green colour offers anglers a subtle, stealthy colour option which is a top choice when bait fishing or when fishing clear water for wary fish. The chartreuse colour is a top choice amongst lure anglers, the high vis colour allows anglers to track their lure back through the water and detect subtle takes by seeing movement in the line. The multicolour J-braid has colour changes every 10, 5 and 1 metre increments making it ideal for boat anglers allowing you to accurately track where your lure or bait is in the water column and target fish holding at a specific depth.

Available in a range of spool sizes including 150m, 300m and 500m options J-braid is suited to a range of reel sizes and styles.

Here at Angling Active we recommend using a 5 turn grinner knot for tying J-braid to swivels or terminal tackle or an FG knot straight onto a fluorocarbon leader for a more stealthy presentation and a connection that will easily pass through the rod guides.
